Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 25, 2026
DAELead Ltd ("we," "us," or "our"), a company registered in Hong Kong, operates the FlightChecked mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. It is issued in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong and, where applicable, the data protection laws of other jurisdictions in which our users are located.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account and Profile Information
When you register for and use FlightChecked, we collect:
• Name and email address
• Organization
• Aircraft information (optional)
• Home base and airport preferences
Whether supply is obligatory: Your name, email address, and organization are required to create an account; if you do not provide them, you will not be able to register. All other information is provided voluntarily.
1.2 Authentication Data
If you choose to sign in using Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an authentication token and the name and email address associated with that account in order to create and secure your FlightChecked account. We do not receive your Apple or Google password. See Section 1.8 for details on the data we receive from Google.
1.3 Flight and Calendar Data
To provide our services, we collect:
• Flight routes, departure and destination airports
• Scheduled flight times
• Weather alert preferences
• Alternate airport selections
With your permission, the App can read your device calendar to import your flight roster and sync flights you choose, and can import flight schedules from iCalendar (.ics) files you open or share with the App. We only access the calendar events and files needed to import the flights you select. You can revoke calendar access at any time through your device settings.
1.4 Subscription and Purchase Data
If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and subscription management is handled through our payments partner, RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status, purchase history, and transaction identifiers, together with a user identifier and limited device information used for subscription entitlement and analytics. We do not collect or store your full payment card details.
1.5 Usage and Device Data
We automatically collect information about how you use the App:
• Device information (type, OS version, unique identifiers)
• App usage statistics
• Crash reports and error logs
• IP address and approximate location
• Push notification token (if you enable notifications), used to deliver weather and NOTAM alerts
1.6 Location Data
With your permission, we may collect precise location data to show your position on aviation maps and to find nearby airports. You can disable location services at any time through your device settings.
1.7 Marketing Preferences
We record whether you have consented to receive marketing communications. See Section 4 (Direct Marketing) for details and how to opt out.
1.8 Google User Data
If you choose Sign in with Google, you authorize FlightChecked to receive the following information from your Google Account. We request only the basic sign-in permissions (openid, email, and profile) and do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, or any other Google service.
• Your name
• Your email address
• Your profile picture URL, if your Google Account has one
• Your Google Account identifier, used to recognise you when you sign in again
How we use it: Solely to create, identify, and secure your FlightChecked account, and to display your name and email address within the App. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to develop, improve, or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
How we share it: We do not share Google user data with third parties, except with Supabase, our authentication provider, which stores it on our behalf to operate sign-in, or where required by law (Section 3.2).
How we store and protect it: Google user data is stored with your account, encrypted in transit and at rest, and protected by the measures described in Section 6.
Retention and deletion: We keep this data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account in the App (Settings, then Profile Settings, then Delete Account), your Google user data is deleted along with your account. You can also remove FlightChecked's access at any time from your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/connections, or contact us at admin@daelead.co to request deletion.
FlightChecked's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
• Provide and maintain the FlightChecked service
• Send weather alerts and NOTAM notifications
• Manage your subscription, purchases, and entitlements
• Import and sync the flights you choose from your calendar
• Improve and optimize app performance
• Respond to your comments and questions
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues
• Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience
• Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
3.1 Service Providers
We may share data with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, including:
• Supabase — authentication, database, and backend hosting
• RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play — subscriptions and in-app purchases
• Apple and Google — sign-in (if you use those options)
• Mapbox — aviation maps (may collect map usage telemetry)
• Expo — push notification delivery
• Weather and aeronautical data providers (e.g. NOAA, Aviation Weather Center)
3.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., court orders, government agencies).
3.3 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
3.4 Automated and AI Processing
We use third-party artificial intelligence models to decode and summarise NOTAMs. Only the publicly published NOTAM text is sent for this analysis — your identity, your routes, your flights, and your aircraft details are never included, and the analysis is performed once for all users rather than per flight.
The one exception is content you choose to publish: if you post a comment, the text of that comment is sent to a third-party AI model for moderation before it becomes visible to others.
4. Direct Marketing
We will only use your name and email address to send you marketing communications about FlightChecked features, offers, and related services if you have given your consent. We will not so use your personal data without your consent.
You may withdraw your consent and opt out of marketing communications at any time, free of charge, through the App preferences, by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting us at admin@daelead.co. We will act on your request without charge.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Flight planning data is typically retained for 90 days, after which it is automatically deleted.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
• Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
• Encryption at rest
• Regular security audits
• Access controls and authentication
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
